Connections on Dublin City FM's The Persuaders

Our very own Conor was on the radio this afternoon! 103.2 Dublin City FM’s The Persuaders with Alex Gibson to be exact.

Along with Robert from Bloom advertising, Fred from DoneDeal.ie, and Piaras Kelly from Edelman PR, Conor held a discussion on the importance of social media in the marketplace. Facebook and Twitter were obviously hot topics of discussion here!

The guys spoke for a while on live broadcast, and the rest of their conversation will be available for listening on The Persuaders’ podcast. The Persuaders is a podcast is a weekly program devoted to marketing and media interests.

You probably may not have noticed but there has been a few changes in the connector.ie site in the last few days.  No, not just a new home page but a new site section for the virtual team of people who help me out over the last few months including my colleagues fromEighty:Twenty.

Thanks to all my friends in this new ‘Team‘ section especially those who have helped me get my web site & content updated this week namely Kam Chandan, Victor Terentiev, Rachel Earley, Neil Buckley, Conor M, Alvin Perry, Frankie Macken, Niamh Smith & Ines Billings.

Mobile community connections

It was great to meet a buch of people last evening at the SMS TEXT NEWS Unlimited Drinks event at O’Callaghan’s Hotel in St.Stephen’s Green. The event was hosted by Ewan MacLeod and I had a great old chat about Social media with Ben Smith, pictured below with Ewan.

I willwrite more later but for now here is a quick intro from Ewan himself ! Nice guy and thanks for the great evening – thanks also to Ireland’s Mr. ePR Piaras Kelly for tell me about it.

Pictured are Russell & Kathrina from Changing Worlds, and I also met David from New Bay, Robert from Sonus PR, Paschal from Mobile Travel, Gerry from ANAM, Ciaran from Weeno, Dave from Just Routes and an American authorette who I hope to write more about soon – Tara Nicole. Hmmm two first names and no surname … cool !

Irish PR connectors

I spotted an interesting post by Damien Mulley about PR connectors and my eyes pricked up ! He was quoting irish PR blogger Piaras Kelly who had written a great article about it in his own blog.

His thesis is that “ultimately will PR agencies win new business based, not simply on their knowledge of communications techniques, but on how well connected they are with specific audiences”.

Now that is something I’d like to explore soon on connector.ie when I have a moment !
