Connector 2.0
by Sarai Fernandez on May 24th, 2010
At Connector we’re celebrating the blog’s second birthday this week. Yes, it has been two years since Conor started writing the Connector blog about all the interesting people and communities he met in Dublin. After that, the networking events came and some time later we started with the consulting and training services.
As a result of being so busy we’ve not being blogging so much, but with our 2nd birthday we want to commit to publish relevant content to share our knowledge of social media besides the new connections with people and communities. We are planning to start publishing webinars, videos and other training material that we hope you find useful.
We’ll give you more info later this week.

Connector @ The Entrepreneur Show
by Nicola OReilly on April 27th, 2010
Connector showcased its new training courses and connecting philosophy at this year’s Entrepreneur Event, Friday 23rd to Saturday 24th April.
Connector’s team helped man the stand for the weekend, making loads of new connections and spreading knowledge of the 10 C’s.
A huge part of the show this year were the bright and lively discussions that took place in the “Think Tank†and “Invest Testâ€Â auditoriums which Conor helped chair as well as take part in.
One of the highlights of the show was hearing some of the Irish and UK dragons take part in these discussions. The connector team also had the pleasure of meeting Sean Gallagher who had his photo taken with them at the Connector stand.
Connector’s bright and inviting stand design, along with its engaging video content was down to the planning and hard work of new recruit David Dungan who has taken to his role with enthusiasm and gusto, as well as Sarai Fernández hard work managing the connector team and Connector’s Entrepeneur Networking Event at Lillies on Friday night.
Overall it was a busy but rewarding weekend at the stand for the Connector team and it will be a busy week again following the amount of interest shown at the show.

Connector No. 18 Review
by Mallory McSweeney on February 7th, 2010
The Champagne Bar in Ron Black’s on Dawson Street was buzzing with the sounds of new connections being made last Thursday evening as Connector No. 18 brought together dozens of people for a few drinks, a few laughs, and of course plenty of social networking! To check out the photos, click here >>
January’s event featured several rounds of speed networking for those interested in making several connections in a short amount of time as well as a few tables of Connect 4 for more casual connecting. I think there was a record number of business cards exchanged at our eighteenth event!
Connector also raised (money) for Haiti at this free event, which will be donated through Adrian Garry’s trip to Haiti. And of course thanks to our great volunteers from DIT Event management (1st years) who helped us on the night.
Christmas Parties season
by Izabela Zelazna on December 8th, 2009

Christmas Tree on O'Connel street, Dublin
It seems like the Christmas Party season has fully started. This week brings two major events that are a must-be for young professionals looking for networking opportunities and fun.
Firstly, on Monday 7th December, The Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) hosted the IIEA Young Professionals’ Network Christmas Event. IIEA is renowned for being Ireland’s leading European and international affairs policy analysis think tank and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. The IIEA events were the platform and forum for many prestigious guest speakers, to name Gordon Brown, Gunther Verheugen or Mikhail Gorbachev. This year’s Christmas event was the occasion to focus on the review of the political, economic and social highlights of 2009, nicely wrapped up and commented by three wise men of Irish journalism: Marc Coleman from Newstalk 106-108, Matt Cooper from Today FM and Sunday Business Post’s own Pat Leahy.
The highlight of the week, however, should be the  Connector Christmas Party on 10th December, in Lillie’s Bordello. We are already counting down to the night full of fun and excitement with awards for ‘Tribe of the Year’ & “Person of the Yearâ€. We will also ask people of good heart to support out cause and donate money to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. Drinks and food at the night will be sponsored by Peroni beer and Realex Payments. Don’t forget to take your business cards and leave your contact details to the girls standing in the Connector corner (with our new pull up stand by Applied Signs& Dispay!)
So put your party hat on & see you on Thursday.
The event starts at 7pm in Lillie’s Bordello at Adam Court, Grafton Street, Dublin 2.

We will also be announcing 2 Connector ‘Person of the Year’ Awards (Male & Female) on the night. The awards are for friends of Connector who have had a successful year worthy of some peer recognition. So why not come along to our Christmas Party with some friends and see who has been crowned with one of these new awards. We’ll also be giving our predictions for the people & tribes to watch in 2010, same as we did with our ‘Top 10 to watch in 2009‘.
The night is sponsored by Peroni and we can’t wait to celebrate our great year with you. We hope to see you there & before then, next week is Tribes Week and we’ve written about each of our five shortlisted Tribes. Check back here to see if you can spot your Tribe and you can check out our Tribes page for more info.
Connector will be giving a Tribes workshop in the new year which will include some really important advice on getting sponsorship, utilising social media to it’s full potential, community management and content creation including podcasts, webTV and blogging.
