Connecting with Martin Moylan's latest video
by Jamie Richardson on August 18th, 2009
I’m starting to wonder if there’s anything that Martin Moylan can’t do! Check out the Canon Digital Video Contest‘s Gold Award winner and his new endeavors!
Martin’s latest video, a tribute to The Dark Knight, is very impressive indeed! Not only did Martin direct this video, but played both roles using his Canon XH A1 . It’s truly a very stunning piece with great special effects as well! Work well done!
Have a look!

Connector Lunch @ Da Pino Restaurant
by Jamie Richardson on August 14th, 2009
Da Pino Ristorante is a main component of our view from the Connector office, and the popular restaurant has caught our attention on more than a couple of occasions.
So, as is the Connector way, we thought: why not blog about Da Pino?
This afternoon we enjoyed a wonderful lunch from our neighbors at Da Pino. The Italian restaurant’s atmosphere was bright and pleasant; and as the lunchtime crowd came, it was clear that others felt the same way! The food was quite good as well!
We’d like to give a big thanks Da Pino’s for a blog-worthy lunch and hope to be back soon!
"What's In Your Handbag?" Connections
by Jamie Richardson on August 13th, 2009
Last night we had a wonderful opportunity to see some “handbag (or manbag) therapy†in action!
Kildare Village has launched a fun new digital campaign that allows people to upload pictures of the contents of their bags for a chance to win a €1,000 shopping spree. That’s a pretty great prize for revealing the insides of your handbag!
The “What’s in Your Handbag or Manbagâ€campaign looks like it will be an enjoyable way to interact with others and reveal what the contents of your bag says about you! When you upload your picture others can comment and vote on the contents. The bag with the most votes wins the prize!
Check out this new site >here>>
Debbie Percy is the Handbag Therapy specialist, at the Kildare Village stand, at the forthcoming Ultimate Girl’s Day Out in the RDS on 28-30 August 2009. We got a chance to hear all about this campaign from her via a Skype conference call at the WHPR offices at Ely Place.
A great night of connections and some revealing discoveries about the contents of some very interesting bags! I recommend that you check out this campaign and reveal the contents of your own bag!
A special thanks to the lovely Heidi O’Sullivan and the people at WHPR and Kildare Village!
Connecting with Paddy MaGuinness
by Jamie Richardson on August 13th, 2009
Today the Connector Interns had the pleasure of meeting with Paddy MaGuinness. Paddy, recommended to us by Don Mullan, our last interview, to meet up with. The web of connections has just begun, and Connector is keen on having many more!
Despite the fact that the chat was a little under an hour, we were able to discover a wide range organizations and projects Paddy has been involved with over the last year. A clear leader in international development, Paddy has worked with Niall Mellon Township Initiative Concern Worldwide, Traidelinks, and the Global Housing Foundation to name a few!
But most remarkably so, was Paddy’s Lifetime Humanitarian Medal presented to him by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. For more on this go check it out >here>>
We  enjoyed meeting Paddy, and hope to see where his passions take him next! The Connector Team is also looking forward for many more connections to come!

The Connector Intern Party!
by Jamie Richardson on August 12th, 2009
It think it’s safe to say that the Connector Intern Party was a success!
Andrew and I worked very hard all day getting The Church’s Tower Bar ready for our special party!
Guests started to arrive, and the night was in full swing! We had a sign in table where guests received a pre-stamped postcard of The Church that they could send back to their families from around the world. We also handed out variously colored buttons with the Connector “C†on them for some mixing and mingling later on.
Soon enough the Tower Bar was brimming with the variety of international students that are living/working/studying in Dublin for the summer!
Personally, I had a wonderful time! It was refreshing to see some new faces and make connections with a variety of new people! I really enjoyed myself, and would like to thank all the volunteers who helped us with the event night! They made my job much easier!
Cheers!
Jamie

First off I would like to start off and thank The Church right off the bat. All of their staff did a great job cleaning, organizing, and catering to our needs for the party. Next I will send my thanks out to our lovely ladies who were involved with the photography, and signing guests in. They did a wonderful job and deserve a big hand.
I was very satisfied with the turnout because I honestly had no idea how many people would show up. It is great to sit above the bar and observe people who have to move people out of the way just to get to the bar. This made me smile and I realized that we threw a kick ass party for students!!
Lastly I would like to say how much I enjoyed working with Jamie on this event. She was a great co-worker, and as a team we worked well together to throw this bang. I look forward to planning more parties in the future for large amounts of people.

GAA Matches & Connections @ Croke Park
by Jamie Richardson on August 10th, 2009
Sunday was quite the busy day down at Croke Park with the GAA All Ireland Senior Football Quarter Final & Hurling Semi Final. With crowds from all over the country, the stadium was bursting with excitement and pride for their supporting teams.
Thanks to Toyota for the tickets, we got to enjoy the Football Quarter Final with Mayo up against Meath. What a match! The stadium was brimming with both Mayo and Meath supporters alike, but in the end it was Meath that beat out the favored team Mayo.
Next on was the Semi-Final Hurling match between Kilkenny and Waterford. This was another great game, it ended ultimately with a win from Kilkenny.
Overall it was an excellent afternoon for enjoying some great Irish sports! Thanks again to GAA Football’s sponsor Toyota for the tickets!

by Jamie Richardson on July 31st, 2009
Our very own Conor was on the radio this afternoon! 103.2 Dublin City FM’s The Persuaders with Alex Gibson to be exact.
Along with Robert from Bloom advertising, Fred from DoneDeal.ie, and Piaras Kelly from Edelman PR, Conor held a discussion on the importance of social media in the marketplace. Facebook and Twitter were obviously hot topics of discussion here!
