"What's In Your Handbag?" Connections
by Jamie Richardson on August 13th, 2009
Last night we had a wonderful opportunity to see some “handbag (or manbag) therapy†in action!
Kildare Village has launched a fun new digital campaign that allows people to upload pictures of the contents of their bags for a chance to win a €1,000 shopping spree. That’s a pretty great prize for revealing the insides of your handbag!
The “What’s in Your Handbag or Manbagâ€campaign looks like it will be an enjoyable way to interact with others and reveal what the contents of your bag says about you! When you upload your picture others can comment and vote on the contents. The bag with the most votes wins the prize!
Check out this new site >here>>
Debbie Percy is the Handbag Therapy specialist, at the Kildare Village stand, at the forthcoming Ultimate Girl’s Day Out in the RDS on 28-30 August 2009. We got a chance to hear all about this campaign from her via a Skype conference call at the WHPR offices at Ely Place.
A great night of connections and some revealing discoveries about the contents of some very interesting bags! I recommend that you check out this campaign and reveal the contents of your own bag!
A special thanks to the lovely Heidi O’Sullivan and the people at WHPR and Kildare Village!

Connector @ Galway Races
by Conor on August 4th, 2009
Finally I made it down to the Galway Races after years of hearing about the Fianna Fail tent in Ballybrit ! And bejaysus when I got down there was no Builders & Developers Tent anywhere to be seen … very mysterious – might have been trimmed back by An Bord Snip Nua … hmmm ?  Well at least the Owners & Trainers still could have their own private VIP area so with a bit of luck I’ll have connections in there next year ! ;-0
I just had a couple of hours looking around on the Sunday afternoon as it would normally not be my scene but I am always open to trying something new. My last horse racing day out was in sunny Sydney & a Galway downpour was what we got on Sunday. Plus I think most of the fillies from Ladies Day on the Thursday had long since departed with their hats & feathers and left the equine variety commanding the attention.
While there I chanced upon the Mad Hatter winner (annual crazy hat contest) & some runners up plus the highly talented young Mulkerrin Brothers who played trad music for a group of rain soaked young fans. Well done to the lads !
Overall it looked like a very well organised event and I willtry and get to see more of it next year. And here is my first photo of a horse connection whose name I do not know in case you’re wondering. And the rest of the weekend was spent with lot of old & new friends in Salthill & Shop Street sampling the wonderful atmosphere that is Galway in the summer.

Connector @ The Wright Venue
by connector on July 26th, 2009

I was lucky enough to be a VIP guest at the official opening night of The Wright Venue in Swords on Thursday night. It was a great night in a very impressive & massive superclub. Let’s just say they put on a great show and it was full of lovely ladies which is always great to see ! ;-0
Thanks to designer Mark Griffin & Patrick Dunne for the invites and dragging my sorry ass out from the city centre for a change – it was well worth it as it was the place to be on the night. Connected with Amanda Sullivan, Aisling Donnellan, Tom Murphy, Jonothan Sultan, Izabela Chudzicka, Angelique & Katie, Helen O’Reilly & I met the lovely Claudine Palmer. More info on the night >>

Connector at Smirnoff Mule Launch Preview
by Jamie Richardson on July 13th, 2009
Juggling, among a variety of other circus tricks, brought a lively atmosphere to Thursday night’s launch of the new Smirnoff Mule Drink. Inspired by Smirnoff’s original Moscow Mule drink from 1940s America, the circus theme brought a pleasant touch of nostalgia to the event.
A circus performer kept guest entertained and amused with an array of tricks. Guests enjoyed the drinks, a cocktail of Smirnoff vodka, ginger ale, and a squeeze of lime, served by the Smirnoff Mixologist.
The event was a sampling preview before the official launch of Smirnoff Mule. Hosted in the Pygmalion on South William St., the evening was one of many launch events that will take place in various clubs and pubs throughout Ireland.Â
The ginger ale and lime in the Smirnoff Mule added simplicity to the beverage, making for a refreshing cocktail. Rather than a mixture of sugary-sweet syrups and mixes, the Mule was light and bubbly, and quite delightful to sip. The “less is more†mentality created an invigorating new take on a cocktail.
The Connector Team is looking forward to the official launch of the Smirnoff Mule drink next Thursday evening. With even more circus performances planned for this event, festivities are looking even more exciting. With Smirnoff Mule in the center ring’s spotlight, the circus extravaganza is sure to be a great time.
An extra thanks for these wonderfully planned evenings goes out to Suzanne Cairns from WHPR Ireland and Sarah from Smirnoff.  We at Connector the enjoyed an evening with the new Smirnoff Mule, and are looking forward to the official launch party!Â

Connector meets The Apprentice Team
by Andrew Sigle on July 6th, 2009

Last week the connector team was in a meeting at The Church in the upstairs part of the balcony. It was brought to our attention that the entire cast of Ireland’s The Apprentice had taken a break from shooting to enjoy lunch on the balcony of the restaurant.
At first I had no idea who this party was until Eugenia from Shinawil approached Conor at our table. She was a producer for the company that also produced the show Dragon’s Den. She actually recognized Conor from his appearance on the show. It was pretty cool that I ate lunch with the whole cast of The Apprentice right here at The Church.
I am a fan of the American apprentice show with Donald Trump; however I have still yet to see the Irish version. I hope to look into it now that I have witnessed all of the contestants eating lunch in person.
