About
My name is Conor Lynch & I am known as a bit of a Connector. According to Wikipedia, a Connector (social), is a person with wide social circles. Connectors are the “hubs” of the human social network and responsible for the small world phenomenon. With social networking, Connectors make connections faster than ever & often know who is doing what, when, where & with whom long before everyone else.
‘Connector’ is an Irish social media business specialising in creating connections for members & clients using events, training & consultancy. Are you a brand, organisation or individual who would like to make new connections in the real & digital worlds? We’re here to help.
I am an honours marketing graduate (B.Sc.Mgmt & HDMP) and have worked in digital & social media marketing for 12 years. I am the current Chair of the Irish Internet Association ‘Social Media Group’ & have the objective of promoting social media best practice in Ireland.
Profile
For 12 years, I have worked on internet marketing projects for brands like RaboDirect, Vodafone, Nokia, Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Toyota, Guinness, Powerade, Aer Lingus & Glanbia. I have also created & managed my own niche web sites like conman.tv (T-shirts & Web Video) and now connector.ie
I was voted the Irish Internet Association’s ‘Internet Marketer of the Year 2005’ while Online Marketing Manager for RaboDirect. Projects I have worked on have also won other awards such as Golden Spiders, Investor Awards & Digital Media Awards.

Did you know ?
Several of my personal projects have been picked up by Irish major press & radio such as 2FM, Newstalk, RTE, BBC & not forgetting my appearance on the Irish Dragons’ Den. My ‘Bring Back Cavan Cola’ campaign (5,000+ Facebook & bebo friends) even made it onto the BBC World web site. One of my CONMAN.tv T-shirts has become a hugely popular YouTube hit (100,000+ views) courtesy of appearing on RTE’s ‘The Panel’ & Andrew Maxwell. I also filmed 2 short CONMAN movies in 2007, one each in Dublin & New York to develop my skills in video content creation.
Influential books I have read include – The Tipping Point, Blink, OPEN, The Long Tail, Convergence Culture, Smart Mobs, The Wisdom of Crowds, One Red Paperclip, The Generation Game, The Cluetrain Manifesto, The Art of War & Eating the Big Fish.
Note – Anything I write in this blog are my own opinions and have not been requested or paid for by a third party or employer. If sponsors are willing to contribute to Connector and our events & activities, I do acknowledge this support & gladly share any goodies!
