Last year, while on holidays in New York, I filmed a short movie trailer about an Irish gangster called ‘CONMAN’ who was being hunted down by the CIA. Would he elude them and escape to Shanghai with his briefcase full of _____ ???
I blagged my way into having full use of the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Manhattan for the day of filming there & connected with my cast & crew on Craigslist. We filmed it all in one weekend and the budget was only a few hundred dollars. New York actors can are very generous with their time for the right projects but you’ve got to sell the idea to them.
So if you want to do a video commercial for your band or a company in an cool city far away from home, there is nothing stopping you with the internet as your connector.
